MASTER OF ECONOMICS
 

MASTER OF ECONOMICS (WEEKDAYS / WEEKEND)


 Background:

 

This program offers a comprehensive course of study in the field of applied economics. It emphasizes a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical applications suitable for various stakeholders. Students will acquire relevant skills in conducting economic research by taking courses in econometric research methods, statistical techniques, and a master's dissertation. Students will also be exposed to current issues in the global economy and the latest tools for economic research and studies.

 

Curriculum Structure:

 

Students are required to complete 40 credit hours. The program includes core courses and a master's dissertation (25 credit hours) and elective courses (15 credit hours).

Admission Requirements:

 
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000; or
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.750 - 2.999 and a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience; or 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.500 - 2.749 and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; or 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA below 2.500 and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Passed Level 7 of Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL.A) from Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
     
English Language Requirement:
 

For international candidates only:

  • Band 5.0 - 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Version); or
  • Score 45 - 78 for TOEFL IBT (Including Home Edition); or
  • Band 3 - 4 for MUET; or
  • Score 47 - 62 for PTE Academic; or
  • Score 106 - 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre, UPM

 

Note: The validity period for English language qualification should not exceed five years.

MASTER OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP (WEEKDAYS / WEEKEND)


 

 Background:

 

This program is an official holistic program designed to produce candidates with entrepreneurial instincts and skills for innovative and creative endeavors. The program is tailored for candidates from various educational backgrounds. Students in this program will also be exposed to practical experiences to exploit market opportunities and benefit from networking.

 

Curriculum Structure:

 

Students are required to complete 43 credit hours. The program includes core courses (31 credit hours), elective courses (6 credit hours), and an entrepreneurship project (6 credit hours).

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000; or
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.750 - 2.999 and a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.500 - 2.749 and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a CGPA below 2.500 and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

MASTER OF FINANCE (WEEKDAYS / WEEKEND)


 Background:

 

This program is nationally and internationally recognized. The program focuses on Financial Engineering and Islamic Finance. Students undertaking this program are required to register for several courses and undertake a research project.

 

Curriculum Structure:

 

Students are required to complete 40 credit hours. The program includes core courses (27 credit hours), elective courses (6 credit hours), and Research Project (7 credit hours).

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA UPM) (WEEKDAYS / WEEKEND)


 Background:

 

In today's uncertain, ambiguous, complex, and volatile global environment, business managers need to respond quickly and flexibly to handle increasing challenges. The UPM MBA program targets leaders and professional managers to enhance knowledge and quality skills in business administration and organization. Our MBA program is specially designed to build a strong foundation for business management skills, making it suitable for students with a background in business administration or other fields. Our case-study-oriented research project provides students with the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of business in their chosen industry, enhancing their knowledge and experience and indirectly educating them to think and make strategic decisions.

 

Curriculum Structure:

 

Students are required to complete 42 credit hours. The program includes core courses (10 credit hours)specialization courses (18 credit hours), elective courses (6 credit hours) and compulsory courses (8 credit hours).
