Jom Masuk Hutan: Exploring Nature, Building Experiences

The School of Business and Economics (SBE), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised the second edition of “Jom Masuk Hutan”, an outdoor learning experience designed for international mobility students. The programme took place at the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve in Puchong, home to the Sultan Idris Shah Forestry Education Center (SISFEC)—a unique UPM-owned forest reserve featuring waterfalls and the picturesque Blue Lagoon.

The day’s highlight was a thrilling jungle trekking experience through the forest’s lush trails, culminating in a refreshing dip at the serene Blue Lagoon. Surrounded by natural beauty, students experienced Malaysia’s tropical rainforest up close—many for the first time.

This initiative goes beyond adventure. It promotes:

  • Teamwork and leadership

  • Environmental awareness

  • Personal growth through experiential learning

At SBE UPM, we believe in offering students well-rounded experiences that complement academic learning. Programmes like “Jom Masuk Hutan” foster a deeper appreciation for nature, strengthen bonds among participants, and create unforgettable memories in a unique Malaysian setting.
