Serdang, Aug 10 - Six international students from Indonesia have completed the 14-day Kuala Lumpur Summer Business Program @ UPM (KLSBP) from July 28 to August 10, 2019. The program organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management involves students from Universitas Pakuan, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Kayali Kampusu, Merkez Turkey and the Indonesian Union of High School of Economics. Participants were Ms. Fanny Fidelia, Ms. Fitri Ariani, Ms. Haya Alvinesha Puspitadindha, Ms. Mega Triana, Ms. Jessica Shally Anisa and Mrs. Siti Nuraida.

The program began with a briefing session with participants on the first day by Dr. Nazrul Hisyam Ab Razak and later a meeting with the Dean and subsequently a special session with all the Faculty of Economics and Management staff.

During the program, the students are exposed to a wealth of experience and knowledge in line with the goals of the program to recognize and explore opportunities and learning in the intricacies of business and entrepreneurship. They went to Les Copaque Sdn Bhd to share experiences with participants in technical as well as international branding and marketing of Upin and Ipin brands.

 

Participants were also taken to the Seremban District Agriculture Office to explore and share agriculture and entrepreneurship where the briefing was presented by Deputy Director Mrs Umairah Abu Kasim and assisted by Agriculture Officer, Mr Ahmad Soki Anian. Also present were the participants of Seremban District Agriculture Office Director Hisham Yacob and Seremban District Agriculture Office staff. Participants were then taken to a small-scale enterprise called SNH Bumi Enterprise, which produces products made from soybeans and Sky High Cameron Farm operated by UPM Alumni.

 

The program also included recreational activities at SISFEC UPM, Edupark Tour UPM and Kuala Gandah Conservation Center, Pahang. Some of the popular places to attend include Genting Highland, Kuala Lumpur City Center, National Bank Museum, National Craft Center and P. Ramlee Memorial Library. During the month of independence, participants are taken to the Independence Square, National Monument and even the National Museum.

The Kuala Lumpur Summer Business Program @ UPM (KLSBP) is not only seen as a program that gives exposure to the learning and theory aspects of business and entrepreneurship but also provides a direct learning experience to the entrepreneurial aspect of getting started with small-to-medium product development. branding a product and then marketing the business
