PROGRAM SYNOPSIS |
ZERO UNEMPLOYMENT |
Centre Of Entrepreneurial Development And Graduate Marketability (CEM) |
YSBC at UPM plans to provide the B40 university students with creative accounting skills to meet the market's needs and to face the challenges of a changing world in the decades to come. YSBC at UPM will provide accounting experiential-based learning with the B40 entrepreneurs. As the "language of business", these B40 university students will provide record-keeping, control, verification, and financial securities required for any successful entrepreneurs. |
ZERO POVERTY |
University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC) |
Some of the most abject poverty in the world is concentrated in farming communities. In Malaysia, farming has always been considered an uneducated muddy job. Farmers do not talk about profit; they speak of living and hardship. The absence of proper accounting records in farm management is apparent. This resulted in inadequate knowledge in cash flow management which is the principal source of poverty amongst farmers. YSBC at UPM plans to supply farmers with a user-friendly personal account book comprising assets, liabilities, equities, incomes and expenses in debit and credit principles. |
ZERO NET CARBON EMISSIONS |
Faculty of Environmental Studies, UPM |
School is the best place to groom and educate children on zero Net Carbon Emissions. YSBC at UPM plans to promote clean air at school places. The three adopted SPE schools will be the venue (i.e. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Kajang; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan 3, Bandar Baru Bangi; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama, Putrajaya). The school will be educated and trained to clean the air in their schools by planting efficient oxygen-producing plants. In collaboration with the Faculty of Environmental Studies UPM, YSBC will be promoting an 'Electricity-Saving Challenge' or "Mottainai" program. "Mottainai" is a Japanese term conveying a sense of regret concerning waste. In this challenge, the school members will be asked to change their behaviour towards saving energy by competing in electricity consumption. |
