The School of Business and Economics (SBE), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has taken a significant step in strengthening international academic collaboration with the launch of the Malaysia Super Satellite Centre (MSSC) on 21 April 2025. Established in partnership with the Xiamen University Pingtan Institute (XMUPT), China, this centre aims to serve as a dynamic hub for bilateral cooperation in higher education.

The official launch was graced by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of UPM, symbolising the university’s commitment to advancing Malaysia–China relations through education, research, and intercultural exchange.

Strategically located at SBE UPM, the MSSC will act as a focal point for a range of international academic initiatives, including student mobility programmes, collaborative research projects and academic networking and dialogue. 

The MSSC reflects SBE’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global engagement and create meaningful, long-term partnerships that benefit students, academics, and researchers alike. By fostering open exchange and collaboration, the centre supports the development of future-ready graduates and contributes to the internationalisation of Malaysian higher education.

SBE UPM is honoured to embark on this journey with XMUPT, and looks forward to building impactful academic bridges that will drive shared growth, innovation, and mutual understanding between Malaysia and China.
