We are pleased to inform you that UPM School of Business and Economics (SPE) will be organizing a workshop entitled, "Nilai Alam Semula Jadi: Kaedah Penilaian Ekonomi untuk Pembuatan Keputusan".
The recent floods have not only wreaked havoc on the economy, but have also resulted in the loss of lives. In this case, maintaining natural resources is crucial because the risk of devastation will be significantly greater if there are no natural resources such as a forest.
Most of the time, the economic value of natural areas' role in ecosystems is uncertain, they are constantly threatened by development, conversion to other types of land use.
This course teaches economic approaches and methodologies for determining the economic worth of a natural resource's ecological role. The course is divided into three sections; exposure to the theoretical underpinnings of economics, methodologies and methods of economic valuation, and application of valuation techniques.
