Master of Economics
 

MASTER OF ECONOMICS 

 

Overview:

 

The program provides a broad-based course of study in the applied field of economics. The programme emphasizes a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application that suits various stakeholders. Students will acquire relevant skills in conducting economic research by taking courses in research methodology econometrics, statistical techniques and a master dissertation. They will also be exposed to current global economic issue and recent economic research tools and studies.

 

Curriculum Structure

 

Candidates are required to complete a total of 40 credit hours of coursework. The total credit hours include program core courses and master dissertation (25 credit hours) and elective courses (15 credit hours).

Entry Requirements

 
  • The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.750 - 2.999 should have a minimum of 1 year working experience in a relevant field; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification with a CGPA between 2.500 - 2.749 and a minimum of 3 years working experience in a relevant field; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification with a CGPA below 2.500 and a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field.
     
English Requirements  

 

For international candidates only:

  • Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Version); or
  • Score 79-80 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
  • Band 4 for MUET; or
  • Score 50 for PTE Academic; or
  • Score 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre, UPM

Note : The validity period of the English Language Proficiency score should not be more than five years.

Master of Entrepreneurship
 
   

MASTER OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

 

 

Overview:

 

This program is a formal holistic program to produce candidates with the entrepreneurial instinct and skills for innovative and creative endeavour. This program is designed for candidates from various educational backgrounds. Candidates of this program will also be exposed to practical hands-on experience to exploit market opportunities as well as benefit from networking.

 

Curriculum Structure

 

Candidates are required to complete a total of 43 credit hours of coursework. The total number of credit hours include program core courses (31 credits), elective courses (6 credit hours) and an entrepreneurship project (6 credit hours).

  • The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000; or

MASTER OF FINANCE

 

 

Overview:

 

This program is recognized at both national and international levels. The focus of this program is on Financial Engineering and Islamic Finance. Students if this program are required to register for several courses and conduct a research project.

Candidates are required to complete a total of 40 credit hours of coursework. The total credit hours include program core courses (27 credit hours), elective courses (6 credit hours) and master dissertation (7 credit hours).

MASTER BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)

 

 

Overview:

 

In a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous global environment today, business managers need to quickly and flexibly react to overcome increasing challenges. Our UPM MBA program is targeting professional leaders and managers to increase knowledge and quality of skills in business and organizational management. Our program is specifically formulated to develop a strong foundation for business management skills, thus it is highly suitable for those students who possess the business management education background and also those who do not. Our case-based research project will enable students to explore the intricacies of a business in a chosen industry. This will expand students’ knowledge and experience and indirectly train them to think and make decisions strategically.

Candidates are required to complete a total of 42 credit hours of coursework. The total credit hours include program core courses and master dissertation (18 credit hours), specialization courses (18 credit hours) and elective courses (6 credit hours).
