WORK ETHICS of UPM

Relations/Interaction With Students:

During the course of their duties, all officers of UPM must:

understand fully the philosophy of education (teaching and learning procedures) in UPM.

achieve the objectives and targets set forth by UPM.

bear in mind at all time that students require proper guidance from wise and prudent officers, who serve as examples for them to follow.

With respect to these, the officers must:

show superb conduct and competence, and not to take advantage of students in whatever way.
provide adequate opportunity for students to interact constructively using organised scheduled.
accept and respect the intellectual potential of students and to elevate their knowledge to a higher level.
reveal their best personalities as officers of institution of higher learning.

impart knowledge to students as effective as possible via sophisticated and advance teaching aids available and using current lecture and teaching materials.

inform students' results of examinations, tests, assignments, and other course works within a reasonable period of time or within the time allocated by the university.

With respect to these, the officers must:

If an officer realizes he has a personal interest involving financial or otherwise, which is likely to hinder the accomplishment of his official duties, he must then declare his personal interest to his superior officer. The latter should take appropriate actions for the officer concerned to relinquish all the interest and conflict or to amend the officer's scope of duties.
